LaVerne Srinivasan

Vice President, National Program, and Program Director, Education at Carnegie Corporation of New York

LaVerne Evans Srinivasan is vice president of the Carnegie Corporation’s National Program and director of its Education program, where she leads efforts to strengthen K–12 learning through community engagement, teaching and leadership improvements, and innovative education models. With deep expertise in urban school reform and edtech, she previously served as deputy chancellor of the NYC Department of Education, where she led strategic planning and launched Project Home Run to boost teacher recruitment in high-need schools. Srinivasan also served as president of New Leaders, expanding its footprint and launching the EPIC awards. As president of Time to Know, she advanced digital tools to support deeper learning, and later cofounded FieroNow to improve stakeholder feedback in education. Earlier in her career, she held executive roles at BMG Entertainment and began as a lawyer at Shearman and Sterling. A Harvard College and Law School alumna, she serves on multiple education boards and advisory councils.
