
Director, Policy Campaigns at JFF
David Altstadt is a director in the Policy & Advocacy practice at JFF, where he develops nonpartisan policy solutions and builds partnerships with policymakers, practitioners, and advocates to shape national and state policies on education, workforce development, and poverty alleviation. In this role, he produces policy resources and leads programs that advise state policymakers.
He brings expertise in postsecondary education and training systems, research and policy analysis, communications, service line development, and business development. Before joining JFF full time, Altstadt worked as a consultant for JFF, the Aspen Institute, and the Working Poor Families Project.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University and a master’s degree in liberal studies with a concentration in social and public policy from Georgetown University.
